It’s my honour and privilege to be the new minister of Dunfanaghy and Carrigart Presbyterian Churches. Thank you to all the members, associates and friends from the local community and further afield for your warm welcome, kind wishes and prayers. It’s great to be back in Donegal and we’re looking forward to living and serving in this beautiful part of Ireland once more.
In the Bible we read this wonderful song of thanks and praise:
‘Give thanks to the Lord for He is good;
His love endures for ever.’
(Psalm 118 v 1)
The writer knew their ancestors had been rescued from slavery in Egypt, protected from enemies and provided for in the ‘Promised Land’ of Canaan. So they had come to God’s ‘house’, the Temple in Jerusalem, to thank the Lord for His grace and faithfulness.
Christians celebrate that we have been saved and given new life in Jesus. While the outward circumstances of our lives on Earth change, we are assured of a future heavenly inheritance and that nothing meantime can separate us from God’s love.
Not ever!
So let’s make it our resolve every Sunday we’re fit to rise to come with our families to church, to give thanks, to pray, and to offer our lives in glad service.
‘This is the day the Lord has made;
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.’
(Psalm 118 v 24)
A warm welcome is waiting. See you Sunday!
And for our many friends and associates worldwide who can’t be with us in person each week, please feel welcome to stay in touch via this website!
